Exciting Weekend

Okay, so I am promise that I am going to get better at this blogging thing. Well, maybe I'll start once Pastors' Conference is over - so we'll say Feb. 12th. My weekend has started out great. Number 1 - I don't work on Fridays so technically my weekend started today. Number 2 - I got a call from the eye doctor stating that my new glasses were ready for pick up. WOO HOO! (picture to come at end) Number 3 - I talked to my friend Chenekka today and we are having lunch tomorrow. The reason that I am so excited about this is because she and her husband had a little baby girl on Jan. 17th and Jack has yet to see her. He likes babies but from about 4 feet away. (Sarah, I think that he is going to be inacting Noah's 5 feet rule from Disney) Number 4 - On Saturday, I get to go have lunch with my soccer coach (well old coach). He was my coach from the time that I was 14 until I was too old to play and then he just became like a second dad to me. I am so excited to see him and spend some time with him. Other than that we will spend a majority of the time cleaning house, doing laundry and cleaning out the car - I know it's so exciting I can barely stand it. Now for the promised picture plus one of Jack from last week.
I was vacuuming the hall last Friday and I look up to find Jack trying to vacuum his room.
These are my new glasses - they are black rims and green on the inside.

I've Noticed Something

So today I realized something, I am ahead of the curve in a having a baby amongst my friends. Two very good friends of mine just had babies. One had a little girl last week and the other had a little boy very early this morning. Jack is almost 2. I have a lot of friends at church that are expecting a baby and I couldn't be more excited for them all. I have people all the time ask me if we are ready for another one and I kindly tell them no. Jack is probably going to be an only child for the simple fact that he has way too much energy and excitement to have another anytime in the near future. He is going to be one of those kids that has to be involved in everything simply for the fact that he will get bored easily. Something else that I have realized over the past few months is that when I tell people that Jon and I have decided to have only one child they look at me as if I have cursed or said something horrible. It is a decision that we made when we started trying to get pregnant. We talked about it at length and this was our decision. We prayed about it and felt that God allowed us this one wonderful little boy and we are going to do everything we possibly can to raise him up in God's ways.

On another note.....

Last time I checked it was not supposed to be FREEZING in Florida. We had our few days of winter back in December and now it is supposed to be gone. I know I am complaining about it being in the mid-20s for a few days, when it is snowing else where in the country and double digits below freezing but people need to understand I live in Florida for 1 reason and 1 reason only - the HEAT (ohh yeah and the sunshine but mostly the heat). Just thought I'd throw that out there.

And on an unrelated note....

I highly recommend for everyone to go and see Paul Blart: Mall Cop. Jon and I went on Saturday - absoultely histerical.

That is all. Have a great night.

Can't believe he's 18 months old

My little boy is getting so big. This past Wednesday he turned 18 months old. Sometimes I still see him as a newborn but then realize that he is growing up so fast. We took him to the doctor on Friday morning for his 18 month checkup and the doctor said that he is doing great. He is weighing in at 28.4 pounds, measuring at 34.75 inches tall and his head is measuring at 50 centimeters. He has grown exactly 2 inches in 3 months - now I understand why his pants are too short. He is beginning to talk more and potty training might be right around the corner. He is just so much fun right now.

In other news - the Gators won on Thursday. Go GATORS!!!! and Timmy Tebow is coming back for next season - WOO HOO!!!! I started a new bible study last week on Esther by Beth Moore. It is wonderful so far. This month is flying by. Pastors' Conference is fast approaching as is the beginning of deployment training for Jon. Looking forward to what the Lord has in store for us.
